Summer Festivals

SummerStage

Since 1986, this performing arts festival has been held in New York. Some of the parks of the 5 districts of the Big Apple host actors, musicians and performers,being one of the most outstanding stages the Rumsey Playfield in Central Park. Most performances are free and in all you can enjoy the food and drinks.

Shakespeare in the Park

One of the most ingrained and beloved contests of the summer in New York City. Since 1962, Shakespeare in the Park has paid homage to the most universal playwright of all time, William Shakespeare.

Performances take place at the Delacorte Theatre in Central Park. It is an outdoor amphitheatre, built in 1961 and with a backdrop worthy of a Summer Night's Dream: Belvedere Castle and Turtle Pond.

Summer Cinema

During July and August, New York's parks and rooftops are transformed into movie theaters. The schedule is weekly, so every day of the week the session is in a different neighborhood and in a different park or roof: Central Park Film Festival, Intrepid Museum's Summer Movie Series, Movies with a View, Brooklyn Film Festival, Rooftop Films, Roosevelt Island Outdoor Summer Movie Series, Films on the green, MOCA Cinema at Columbus Park... Broadway in the Park

Bryant Park is the setting for Broadway in the Park, another of the most anticipated festivals in New York City. In it you can see represented different small pieces of the best Broadway musicals, 3 or 4 different numbers of different musicals. Harlem Week

Jazz Age Lawn Party

The Jazz Age Lawn Party has been held every summer on Governors Island since 2005. What began as a gathering of fanatical friends of flappers, art deco and jazz has become one of the most recognized and outstanding events of the New York summer.

The Jazz Age Lawn Party celebrates all the social and cultural movements that brought with it this time, beyond the Dry Law, as was the achievement of the female vote and the revolution and evolution of art in all its expressions.

Endless activities: orchestras, dance floors, charleston and peabody classes, dance shows, games, photo booths, vintage car shows, vintage shops where umbrellas, contests, picnics, all the frenzy of the 1920s and many cocktails can not be missed, because at this party, alcohol is legal.

US Open Tennis Tournament

Between the end of August and early September, the US Open, the last of the Grand Slam tournaments, is held. The U.S. Open has gone from a high society recreational event to one of the world's most famous competitions in the world Tennis.

Since 1978 the tournament has been held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, one of the largest tennis complexes in the world with 33 courts (22 on-site and 11 in the adjacent park). It is located in the Flushing Meadows neighborhood of the Queens district.

  • Lower Manhattan Tour: SOHO, Little Italy and Chinatown. This tour allows you to get to know in depth the neighborhoods of SOHO, Little Italy and Chinatown in a short time.
  • Wall Street. Known as the financial heart of the planet, Wall Street holds historical, architectural, sculptural and spiritual treasures among its streets.
